The 1er Grand Cru Château Rieussec is now owned by Château Lafite Rothschild, and their vineyards border that most famous of Sauternes, Château d'Yquem. After a huge investment in the winery, their sweet wines are once again regarded as being amongst the very best in the world. Made with grapes affected with noble rot gives a distinct saffron and tangerine marmalade sweetness to the rich palate. This sweetness is balanced by bracing acidity before an amazing finish that slowly fades, inviting another sip.
