Duchesse de Bourgogne is a Flanders Red Ale, its blend of a younger, 8-month-old ale and an older, 18-month-old ale that has matured in oak casks called Foeders. The oak ageing brings out red wine like tannins and a fruity and acidic character, while the younger ale in the blend stops it from being overpowering and less approachable. A beer that will really suit red wine drinkers, it's a perfect substitute for a glass of red wine.
